Captain of Nigerian senior men national team, William Troost-Ekong have confirmed that all issues between the Super Eagles players and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been resolved as they resumed training ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier playoffs against Gabon at the Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan on Thursday.
The Super Eagles had earlier opened camp on Sunday in Rabat, Morocco, as preparations kicked off to face the Panthers of Gabon, but on Tuesday didn’t train due to some misunderstanding between the NFF and team.
As a result NFF president Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau reportedly held a team meeting in other to resolve the issue which has kept the players from boycotting training earlier.
On Wednesday evening captain Troost-Ekong via his X (formerly Twitter) handle confirmed that all has been resolved and the players are back on track to do the job which brought them to Morocco.
“Issue RESOLVED. Outstanding financials cleared and on ground. Team is UNITED and focussed as before on representing NIGERIA with our maximum for the games ahead!”
Shortly after his post, the team was seen outside the hotel since on Tuesday going for training aheard of that big match on Thursday.

The eventual champion will secure Africa’s sole ticket to the Intercontinental Playoffs slated for Mexico next year.
