Maxi Nzengeli scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute for Yanga in their 1-0 victory over second tier club TMA Stars.
The Congolese winger arrived to fire in from Edmund John’s cross after a long range pass from Pacôme Zouzoua exposed the TMA Stars defense. The victory sees the reigning league and cup champions in Tanzania through to the final eight in the cup.
In the earlier match on Saturday, top flight relegation fighters Coastal Union defeated fellow NBC Premier League club Pamba Jiji by a 2-0 score.
