Yankuba Minteh to lead Gambia squad for World Cup qualifiers

Gambia national team coach Johnathan McKinstry has included winger Yankuba Minteh in his squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kenya and Burundi in September.

Minteh, who plays for Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion, will lead the side alongside Alieu Fadera, Abdoulie Sanyang, Adama Sidibeh, Adama Bojang, and Ali Sowe.

The Scorpions will face Kenya on September 5 in Nairobi before they confront Burundi on Tuesday, September 9. They are currently sitting fifth in Group F with four points accumulated from one win, one draw and four defeats.

Gambia squad;

Goalkeepers: Ebrima Jarju, Sheikh Sibi, Baboucarr Gaye.

Defenders: Omar Colley, Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh, Momodou Lion Njie, Sheriff Sinyan, James Gomez, Alagie Saine, Sainey Sanyang, Joseph Ceesay, Muhammed Sanneh.

Midfielders: Ebou Adams, Abubakr Barry, Mahmudu Bajo, Jesper Ceesay, Muhammadou Drammeh, Abdoulie Manneh, Musa Barrow.

Forwards: Alieu Fadera, Abdoulie Sanyang, Yankuba Minteh, Adama Sidibeh, Adama Bojang, Ali Sowe.
