Yannick Bolasie joins Chapecoense

Former DR Congo winger Yannick Bolasie has joined newly promoted Brazilian Serie A side Chapecoense until December 2026. The veteran attacking midfielder left another Brazilian side, Cruzeiro, after spending the 2025 season there.

Bolasie, 36, will begin a new adventure with Chapecoense. He managed to amass 33 appearances in all competitions for Cruzeiro, scoring four goals and providing two assists. Bolasie has been playing in the South American nation since 2024 after joining Criciúma.

The Lyon-born player spent much of his career in England and impressed many during his time at Crystal Palace between 2012 and 2016. His big-money move to Everton in 2016 did not yield success due to an ACL injury sustained in December 2016.

Chapecoense will officially kick off their Serie A season on January 28 with a highly anticipated clash against Neymar’s Santos.
