Tanzania Mainland Premier League champions Young Africans have completed the transfer of midfielder Lassine Kouma (21) from Stade Malien.
Speaking on making the move, Kouma said: “I feel an indescribable joy joining Young Africans — the team of my dreams. I am deeply grateful to Stade Maline for being my pillar through all the times we’ve shared together.
“A new chapter begins in my life as I join the “Timu ya Wananchi” (The People’s Team). I truly love you, Young Africans. I kindly ask for your support.”
Meanwhile, Yanga announced his arrival by saying: “You asked for a Super Magician… we’ve signed him. Lassine Kouma ni Mwananchi.”
The arrival of Kouma comes just a few days after Yanga took a bold step in appointing French Moroccan Romain Folz as their new head coach for the 2025/26 season.
In a recent interview, Young Africans’ head of communications, Ali Kamwe confirmed that he had received a comprehensive technical report outlining all the changes to be implemented as part of the club’s preparations for the new campaign.
“I have already received the full squad improvement report. The document details players whose contracts have expired and won’t be renewed, others whose deals have been extended, some who have been released, and a few who have been offered new contracts,” Kamwe explained as quoted by Guardian.
Yanga have already unveiled Malian midfielder Moussa Balla Conte.
