Moroccan left-back Youssef Belammari spoke after Al Ahly were held to a goalless draw against AS FAR in the final round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
The stalemate at home was enough to secure top spot for Al Ahly, while the Moroccan side finished as runners-up. Both teams advanced to the quarter-finals of Africa’s most prestigious club competition.
Belamri reflected on the result, saying:
“First of all, congratulations to us for the qualification, which did not come easily. We played against a strong team. Thank God for the point that secured us the top of the group. I dedicate this qualification to the great Al Ahly fans, and tomorrow we will say our word in the upcoming matches.”
Looking ahead to the quarter-finals, Belammari added:
“There are no preferred opponents in the quarter-finals. We must prepare well. Any match will be tough — every team that qualified is strong. God willing, we will prepare properly, win the title, and dedicate it to Al Ahly’s fans.”
Belammari joined Al Ahly during the recent winter transfer window from Raja Club Athletic, and continues to integrate into the squad as the Cairo giants pursue another continental crown.
