Comoros national team legend Youssouf M’Changama announced his presence at new club Al Batin in sensational fashion on Friday with a splendid free kick goal in the club’s 1-2 Saudi First Division defeat to Al Diriyah.

The veteran playmaker was brought in for his ability to produce moments of magic and the former Guingamp star obliged. In the 41st minute, the #10 unleashed a perfect strike from 35 yards to give the hosts the lead. The 35-year-old used his advanced technique to send a swerving and dipping shot that left Diriyah goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah grasping air.
In the end, however, the goal was not enough for Al Batin to achieve their first victory of the league campaign. Former Nice and Montpellier striker Gaetan Laborde equalized for Diriyah in the second half before Senegal U-20 international Clayton Diandy, on loan from Greek club Aris, scored in stoppage time to deal a damaging defeat to the home support.
Batin remain in the two-team relegation zone with a mere two points from seven matches. While it is early in the 2025-26 campaign, the club will need more magical moments from the Comorian while they struggle to recover from a poor start.
Next up on the schedule is Al Jandal on November 21 after the November FIFA window, where M’Changama is likely to be involved for Comoros as they continue preparations for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with two friendlies at home against Namibia on November 14 and November 17.
