He subsquently missed Spurs next Premier League fixture against Aston Villa with manager Thomas Frank confirming he had suffered injury while on international duty and could be out for several weeks.
“Biss unfortunately had a situation with the national team, I think everyone saw that, unfortunately, so he got a ligament injury to his ankle. That’ll keep him out for weeks,” said Frank.
Bissouma, who was stretchered off following a strong tackle, has now revealed via his Instagram account that he has undergone surgery on his ankle.
“Everything went well. I thank God for everything that happens to me. Everything happens for a reason. I’m simply following my destiny. Grateful to God for His protection,” he confirmed on his Instagram page.
Bissouma joined Spurs from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 after he signed a four-year deal. He made his debut coming on as a second-half substitute in a 4-1 win over Southampton in the Premier League.
