Zamalek coach Ferreira drops Chico Banza from squad due to late arrival

Zamalek head coach Yannick Ferreira has decided to exclude Angolan winger Chico Banza from the squad for today’s Nile Egyptian League clash against Al Masry.

The Belgian coach made the call after Banza returned late from international duty with Angola during the recent FIFA break. Despite his good form since the start of the season, scoring twice in four appearances, the player will not be available for this crucial fixture.

This is not the first disciplinary issue involving Banza at Zamalek. Earlier in the campaign, he was left out of the squad for the second league match after reportedly reacting inappropriately to being substituted in the opening game.

Zamalek face Al Masry today at 5:00 PM GMT in Round 6 of the Nile Egyptian League. Al Masry sit top of the standings with 11 points, while Zamalek trail closely behind in second place with 10 points at the start of the round.
