Zamalek head coach Christian Gross stated that his team faced difficulties in Tuesday's match against Pharco due to the condition of the pitch.

Zamalek secured a 1-0 victory over Pharco in their match held as part of the 13th round of the Nile Egyptian League, raising their tally to 26 points and remaining third in the league standings.

In the post-match press conference, the head coach said: "I am happy with the players' good spirit and the victory. We must now focus on the next match against Petrojet."

Gross continued: "Pharco is a good team but Zamalek managed to limit their threats. We were fortunate with the goal that Pharco's defender scored by mistake just before the end of the first half."

The coach explained that midfielder Mohamed El-Sayed performed well and played with great spirit, expressing his hope that all team members would be available and ready to participate in matches. He emphasized that he prefers to talk only about the players who take part in the game.

When asked about reports suggesting that he might leave his coaching role to become the club's sporting director, Gross responded: "I do not know Arabic, I am unaware of what is being written about me and I do not know anything about these rumors."

Regarding the yellow cards received by several Zamalek players during the match, the head coach stated: "I prefer not to comment on refereeing decisions."
