Belgian coach Yannick Ferrera, head coach of Zamalek Egypt, stated that he wishes to apologize for what happened in the previous press conference after the Arab Contractors match in the Nile Egyptian League, due to his nervousness, especially as he was suffering from back pain, which pushed him to end the press conference quickly. He stressed that he wanted to clarify the matter and hopes that everyone understands his situation.
Regarding preparations for the upcoming Modern Sport match in the league, Yannick Ferrera said in the pre-match press conference:
“We worked on recovering the players properly before the game, we had a one-day break and then started preparing for the match. We hope the squad will be complete, given the injuries that happened to some players in the last Arab Contractors match and during training.”
He added:
“The support of the fans in the previous game was great, and we are trying to make them happy. The team missed some technical aspects in the Arab Contractors match, which prevented us from scoring goals. We learned from that, and we are working on developing from one match to another in order to reach our best performance.”
Yannick Ferrera continued:
“We faced unfavorable conditions in the previous game, including the pitch, and we will not complain too much, but we will seek technical solutions in the upcoming period.”
The Belgian head coach went on:
“We are happy to play the upcoming match against Modern Sport at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium, given the good condition of the pitch.”
As for Ahmed Fattouh’s return to group training, Zamalek coach said:
“I spoke with the player for an hour before he joined training yesterday. I felt his enthusiasm and seriousness, and it was clear during the session. Fattouh gave an excellent performance, and he will benefit the team in the coming period with the capabilities he possesses.”
Yannick Ferreira concluded his statements by saying:
“Brazilian player Juan Alvina gave a good performance during his participation in the second half of the last match. He tried a lot and showed quick impact with the team, and he will have a role in the coming period. The same goes for Palestinian player Oday Dabbagh. He is a distinguished player, and once the team presents a better attacking shape, the player will have a strong impact with Zamalek.”
Zamalek is preparing to face Modern Sport on Thursday at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium, in the third round of the Nile Egyptian League.
