Big blow for Zamalek: Dunga ruled out of Kaizer Chiefs clash

Zamalek have been dealt an early blow in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign after medical tests confirmed that midfielder Nabil Emad “Dunga” sustained a sprain in the medial collateral ligament (MCL) of his knee during the 1–0 victory over Zesco United.

Gerard Osu Manzanet, head of Zamalek’s medical staff, revealed through the club’s media center that the player underwent immediate medical examinations and imaging after being transported directly from the stadium to a hospital via ambulance.
The tests confirmed the MCL injury, after which Dunga was discharged and will begin a rehabilitation and treatment program in the coming days.

Zamalek defeated Zesco 1–0 at Cairo International Stadium in the opening round of the Confederation Cup group stage, thanks to a decisive goal from Seifeddine Jaziri. However, the win came at a cost, as Dunga was forced off after suffering the injury during the game.

The setback means the main midfielder will be ruled out of Zamalek’s crucial second-round fixture against South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Confederation Cup.
