Zamalek began their 2025-2026 Nile Egyptian League campaign with an important 2-0 away victory over Ceramica Cleopatra.
The match was evenly balanced for much of the contest, with both sides unable to break the deadlock until the 84th minute. Nasser Maher finally put Zamalek ahead, receiving a pass from new signing Adam Kaid inside the box, skillfully evading his marker before firing home.
In the final minute of stoppage time, Mohamed Shehata produced what could already be one of the goals of the season, launching an audacious strike from the halfway line that sailed over the goalkeeper and into the net, taking advantage of his advanced position.
The win gives Zamalek their first three points of the season and saw debuts for several new signings, including Chico Banza, Adam Kaid, and Abdelhamid Maali.
Elsewhere, Al Masry claimed a convincing 3-1 victory over Al Ittihad Alexandria. Abdelraheem Deghmoum scored twice, while Omar El Saay netted the other with a spectacular long-range strike. Mostafa Ibrahim grabbed the lone goal for Al Ittihad.
