Wael El-Kabbani, the Football Director of Egyptian club Zamalek, in coordination with the team’s head coach Ayman El-Ramadi, has decided to refer goalkeeper Mohamed Awad to the club’s legal affairs department for investigation due to his behavior during the match against Ceramica Cleopatra, which was held yesterday in the Nile Egyptian League.
Based on the outcome of the investigation, appropriate decisions will be made in accordance with the club’s regulations.
Reports indicated that Mohamed Awad refused to listen to his goalkeeping coach's instructions and turned his back to him before joining the game as a substitute.
El-Kabbani also issued a formal warning to goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi for his behavior during yesterday’s game against Ceramica Cleopatra. The player was spoken to and clarified that his actions were driven by frustration from an injury he sustained and his desire to continue playing. He also affirmed his full respect and appreciation for Zamalek Club.
Mohamed Sobhi had initially refused to be substituted after his injury and insisted on continuing the match.
Zamalek drew 2-2 with hosts Ceramica Cleopatra in the fifth round of the Championship Stage of the Egyptian Nile League.
