The Board of Directors at Zamalek SC has decided to reject the appeal submitted by the star player Ahmed Sayed "Zizo", while upholding disciplinary sanctions recently imposed on him.
The club’s decision came after the hearing session and investigation that the player underwent—based on his own request—which included his justification of the violations he committed, such as his absence from training and other actions without providing any explanation.
It has been decided to enforce all disciplinary sanctions imposed on the player, based on his recent behavior, in accordance with the internal regulations of the club’s first team.
The tension involving Zizo and Zamalek began when the club discovered that the player had signed contracts related to arch-rivals Al Ahly, in preparation for a move next season after the expiration of his current deal with Zamalek.
For this reason, the player was initially excluded from the second leg of Zamalek's CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal match against Stellenbosch on April 9.
Since then, Zizo has not participated in team training from April 10 until May 3, having completely cut off from sessions at the club.
The Egyptian international had filed a complaint with the Players’ Affairs Committee at the Egyptian Football Association against his club's board of directors.
Zizo accused Zamalek officials of instructing club employees to remove his images from the walls inside the club premises, tear them apart and trample on them.
