Zamalek have officially announced the departure of Belgian manager Yannick Ferrera, bringing an end to his tenure with the White Knights. The club announced in an official statement released on Saturday.
Ferrera’s final game in charge ended in a 1-1 draw against National Bank on Thursday, a result that left Zamalek in fourth place in the Nile Egyptian League with 19 points from 11 matches.
During his stint with the club, Ferrera managed 13 games across all competitions, registering seven wins, four draws, and two defeats.
Zamalek have appointed Ahmed Abdel Raouf as the team’s new head coach. The former Zamalek midfielder will be given full authority to form his own backroom staff ahead of a busy period for the club.
Abdel Raouf will lead the team in the upcoming Egyptian Super Cup, which will take place in the UAE. Before traveling, Zamalek are set to face Tala’ea El Gaish on Sunday, then fly out on Monday to meet Pyramids in the Super Cup semi-final on Thursday. The final or third-place match will follow on November 9.
