Zamalek terminates contract with Teddy Okou

Zamalek SC has announced the official termination of its contract with French-Ivorian winger Teddy Okou, who signed for the club only last month, but refused to complete the deal.

In a statement released on Monday, the Egyptian club confirmed that amicable discussions with Luzern resulted in a financial settlement that fully preserves all Zamalek’s rights related to the deal.

The statement added:

“Zamalek pursued all legal and official channels through its sporting administration, led by Sporting Director John Edward, after the player and his parent club failed to honor the terms of the agreement both parties had signed.”

Following these discussions, Zamalek agreed to allow the player to leave and will not proceed with completing the contract, having secured an official settlement that satisfies the club’s legal and contractual interests.

This resolution brings a close to the brief and unsettled chapter between Zamalek and Teddy Okou during the current transfer window.
