Zambia captain Sakala ill, out of Morocco match

Zambia national team skipper Fashion Sakala has been ruled out of Monday’s must-win against Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) landlords Morocco.
The Saudi Arabia-based forward was taken ill hours before the match in Rabat, according to the Football Association of Zambia.
Team doctor Wesley Ngongo said the captain was rushed to Hôpital Universitaire International Mohammed VI after complaining of abdominal discomfort, dizziness and general weakness during a routine medical check.
“This morning Fashion complained of experiencing abnormal pain, feeling weak and dizzy during my routine check on the players. We have rushed him to the hospital,” said Dr. Ngongo.
The Al Fayha striker has been ruled out of the Group A fixture against hosts Morocco. Chipolopolo have two points and need maximum points to progress to the knock-out phase of AFCON.
