The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) elections are underway after delegates agreed to proceed with the polls as the only agenda of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kabwe.

At the top of the agenda was the presidential race involving incumbent Andrew Kamanga, who is bidding for a third five-year term of office. The FAZ boss faces competition from his former general secretary Adrian Kashala, Keith Mweemba, and Emmanuel Munaile.

The race for the vice presidency has the incumbent Justin Mumba facing Mutale N'gandu’s challenge. The winning candidate must obtain 50 percent plus one of the total votes cast.

Delegated at the AGM agreed to focus on the elections following guidance from FIFA Senior Member Associations’ Governance Manager Ahmed Harraz.

FAZ media says Harraz advised delegates to set aside other agenda items and focus solely on the electoral process to bring closure to the 2025 FAZ election cycle.

The proposal received full support from the voting Congress comprising delegates from 10 provinces, Super League teams, National League, Women’s League clubs, and other football structures.

The reconvened AGM follows the initial session held in Livingstone in March 2025, which was suspended due to a court order.

FIFA, in consultation with CAF and FAZ, facilitated the rescheduling of the meeting to ensure compliance with governance protocols and statutes.
