Zambia giants Zanaco FC unveil eight new players

Zanaco FC have unveiled Malawian international Chimwemwe Idana alongside seven other new acquisitions ahead of the 2025/2026 MTN Super League season in Zambia.

 

In a statement, the seven-time champions praised the new arrivals, describing them as “strategic additions to strengthen key areas of the squad, positioning the club for a highly competitive and successful campaign.The new signings bring a mix of experience and creativity.”

 

Idana was unveiled in Lusaka on Tuesday after completing his transfer from Malawi league champions Silver Strikers on a two-year contract.

 

The discarded Flames playmaker was introduced to the media alongside Ian Sindayi, a midfielder, who joined from Forest Rangers on a two-year contract and former Green Buffaloes goalkeeper Francis Mwansa on a free transfer.

 

Former Kabwe Warriors defender Tinkler Sinkala, ex-Trident FC left-back Garvin Mukandamweene and John Chishimba, formerly of Zesco United have signed for Zanaco alongside Chipo Manda (midfielder) and Eliya Mandanji (striker) on loan from Kafue Celtic.

 

Mumamba Numba's side barely survived relegation last season after finishing fifth from bottom. Zanaco are among top teams in Zambia boasting seven domestic league titles.
