Zambia international Barbra Banda was among the goals as Orlando Pride were forced to come from two goals down to overcome Angel City FC 3-2 in a five-goal National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) thriller at Inter & Co Stadium on Saturday.
The visiting side took an early lead with only nine minutes played when forward Riley Tiernan slotted past Anna Moorhouse and they doubled their lead in the 44th minute when Katie Zelem rounded off the keeper to score to an empty net.
The second half belonged to Orlando Pride, who attacked from the onset looking to get something from the game. However, they were forced to wait until the 71st minute to spark a comeback when Brazilian Marta found the back of the net with a great finish.
Six minutes later, Banda levelled the scores at 2-2 after heading home a pin-point cross from Carson Pickett before the points were secured in the stoppages after defender M.A. Vignola scored into her own net while trying to clear a dangerous ball in their area.
Out of six matches so far this season, Banda has scored four goals and provided one assist. Another Zambian international Prisca Chilufya also featured in the game for Orlando Pride but was withdrawn in the second half.
Pride will return to action with a visit to face Portland Thorns at Providence Park on Sunday.
