Banda has taken the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) by storm since moving to Orlando Pride from Shanghai Shengli in March 2024.

FIFA stated in the nominee’s focus that the Zambian striker capped a free-scoring season for her new club with the NWSL championship-winning goal on Saturday, and has also continued to shine at the international level.

She broke new ground at the Paris 2024 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament by bagging a hat-trick against Australia. Having also notched two trebles at the Tokyo 2020 Games, the Copper Queens explosive striker became the first player to score three hat-tricks in the competition’s history.

In the attacker nominees, Banda and countrymate, Racheal Kundananji have been shortlisted for the top Attacker Nominees that will form part of The Best FIFA Women’s 11.
