Zambian international Kennedy Musonda has sealed a transfer move to Israeli second-tier side Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim Football Club following his exit from Tanzania Mainland Premier League champions Young Africans SC.
“The Zambian striker comes to us after several significant seasons in Africa’s top leagues, the last of which was with Young Africans (Yanga) – with whom he participated in the CAF Champions League,” the club said on signing Musonda.
“Last season, he scored the winning goal for the Zambian national team against Ivory Coast, a crucial moment that secured the team’s qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.”
Meanwhile, Musonda confirmed his Yanga exit by penning an emotional message to Young Africans fans on his social media pages: “To Young African fans, what can I say? You have been the best to me, to my family and to my dream.
“Thank you for laughing with me, dreaming with me, winning with me, as well as crying with me. Someone said every good story must still come to an end. Forever grateful. On to the next chapter.”
The 30-year-old was part of the Young Africans squad that retained the Premier League title last season for the fourth successive campaign and won the Federations Cup following a 2-0 victory against Singida Black Stars in the final.
He will link up with other Zambian players, who play in Israel among them midfielder Kings Kangwa, who features for top-tier side Hapoel Be’er Sheva, and winger Chipyoka Songa, who turns out for Hapoel Petah Tikva.
