Relegation-threatened Forest Rangers FC assistant coach Dennis Makinka believes it is just a matter of time before the sleeping giants turn the corner in the Zambia Super League.
He said this after Rangers lost 0-1 to Mufulirwa Wanderers FC in a Ndola derby at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday to remain third from the bottom of the 18-member league.
Despite the struggles, Makinka, who deputises Ian Bakala, told his club’s media that they would return to glory after succumbing to Clive Biyeta’s 18th minute goal from the penalty spot.
Rangers’ sixth loss in 15 league games leaves them in the relegation zone lying four points above second-from-bottom Lumwana Radiants FC whereas Indeni FC anchor the table on 3 points from 15 games.
"All we need is a bit of fine-tuning and a change in mindset to get back on track. We need to pick maximum points in the remaining games so that we have a better standing as we head into the second round," he told the club’s website.
Rangers, who are smarting from five straight league defeats and remain winless in eight matches, will now shift focus to an away fixture against Red Arrows in Lusaka. Up the table, Kabwe lead on 29 points from 15 games, one point ahead of Power Dynamos. Defending champions Arrows sit a distant nine points behind the leaders.
