Zambian winger Edward Chilufya has extended his stay with Danish giants FC Midtjylland, signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until December 31, 2028.
Speaking on extending his stay at the club, Chilufya, who played 1,110 minutes last season, scoring six goals and making six assists, said: “Sometimes confidence is high, sometimes it’s low.
“It can be difficult to come in during the second half and make a difference, but for me it’s about continuing, and continuing to fight for the team. The most important thing is to do my part when I’m needed, and then I believe that success will come.
“I believe in myself. There is a lot of competition in the team, and you have to fight for your place every single day. Of course, it is hard, but also educational. The key for me is hard work, pushing and fighting for my place.”
Chilufya concluded: “I want to continue winning titles here in Central Denmark Region, and at some point in my career, I dream of getting to a top five league.”
Chilufya is approaching 100 games in a Midtjylland shirt. Since joining in the winter of 2022, the Zambian speedster has played 91 games, scored 12 goals and won both the 3F Superliga and the Oddset Cup.
