Napoli clocked their second win of the Italian Serie A season thanks to Andre Zambo Anguissa’s late goal.
The defending champions dominated the play right from the blast of the whistle at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Saturday.
Antonio Conte’s charges struggled in the first half to create clear cut chances but it was Scott McTominay who came close on the stroke of halftime however his effort was dealt with by Cagliari keeper Elia Caprile.
Both sides went into the half time break failing to find the back of the net much to the disappointment of the fans.
McTominay came up with two glorious scoring opportunities but he squandered them both leaving Napoli fans on the edge in the second half.
With the clock ticking away, Cameroon international, Zambo Anguissa saved the day for Napoli in the 95th minute, protecting their 100% record at the start of the new season.
Napoli, AS Roma and Serie A returnees Cremonese have won two matches with the remaining week two games set to be cleared on Sunday August 31.
