Zimbabwe giants CAPS United have embraced diversity by establishing a women’s team ahead of the 2026-2027 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.
In a statement, Makepekepe confirmed the birth of the women’s team named CAPS United Royals FC with immediate effect. The women’s team will be campaigning in the Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League.
“CAPS United Football Club is thrilled to announce the establishment of CAPS United Royals, the club’s ladies’ team,” reads part of the statement.
“This milestone marks a significant step in promoting women’s football in Zimbabwe and empowering young girls to pursue their passion for the sport.”
To kick-start the project, United Royals have since invited interested players to enroll for trials. The trials will take place on March 7, 2026, at Standard Chartered Sports Club.
United Royals will be competing in Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League against established clubs such as Herentals College FC who have represented Zimbabwe in international competitions including COSAFA Club Championship.
