Zimbabwe’s Simba Bhora FC coach Joel Luphahla has admitted that his table-topping side is under pressure going into this Wednesday afternoon’s game against TelOne FC.
Ahead of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Ascot Stadium, the former Zimbabwe’s Warriors winger said pressure is the price they must pay for leading the log table.
Luphahla has since advised his players to focus on their ‘race’ and not that of other teams.
“We focus on our race and try to close our eyes on what is happening with the other clubs,” the coach told Bhora’s media.
“When you go on top, that is pressure and the fact that you are the defending champions makes it difficult, but it is a breather. You can breathe that you are at the summit, although there is no time because we are playing again [today].”
Bhora are three points clear at the summit of the 18-member log table after beating Dynamos 1-0 last weekend, ahead of previous pacesetters MWOS FC, after having played 21 games.
This means that either a draw or loss for the leaders today could see them drop into second place in the event that the second-placed MWOS win their away match against Kariba FC today.
