Zimbabwe’s PSL rookies credit Knowledge Musona for title push

Zimbabwe’s Scottland FC coach Tonderai Ndiraya has once again explained Knowledge Musona’s impact on the rookies who are ‘threatening’ to win the league title.

The coach spoke about the former Kaizer Chiefs star’s contribution while reflecting on their dream debut season in the Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Musona scored over the weekend to hand Scottland a1-0 victory over MWOS and go six points clear at the summit of the Castle Lager PSL with three games remaining to the finish line.

What does Knowledge Musona bring to Scottland FC?

In an interview with the club’s media, Ndiraya attributed their impressive maiden campaign in the PSL to the club’s massive investment in signing quality players such as Walter Musona (Knowledge’s brother), Khama Billiat, Moses Shidolo, Terrence Dzvukamanja and Khuda Muyaba.

“We brought in a number of players. From the squad that won the national first division championship last year, there are only two Ronald Pfumbidzai and Emmanuel Saidi remaining,” the coach said.

“If we had carried on with the players we had in the first round, it was going to be very difficult.”

Apart from the quality of the new signings, Ndiraya specifically mentioned Knowledge Musona’s contribution to the title chase.

“What got us to where we are is the investment that was done in the team by honourable MP Pedzai [Scott Sakupwanya] in bringing quality. One of those that has made the difference is Knowledge. He has been very key for us in the past nine games, organizing the youngsters, but also leading from the front. It is not just him; there are others,” the Scottland coach added.

Knowledge Musona is chasing his first domestic league title in his debut season in Zimbabwe after having returned home ending over two decades in foreign land. He left Zimbabwe as a youth team player to sign for Kaizer Chiefs in neighbouring South Africa before his career took him to Europe and Asia.
