Zimbabwe's FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has urged his players to maximise home-ground advantage when hosting Manica Diamonds on Saturday afternoon.

Mapeza said it was important for Platinum to collect maximum points and bounce back from last weekend's draw with Simba Bhora FC in the opening match of the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.

“I am more than happy with what the guys have been doing since we started training on Tuesday. The hunger is there, the desire to learn and see this club go far and the desire to win matches. Everything is very positive. The mentality is very positive after our performance against Simba everybody is now believing that if we continue from where we left against Simba, we can do better,” he told the club’s media.

The former Warriors manager admitted that Diamonds might have a psychological advantage going into the match since their squad comprises ex-Platinum players.

He said: “Manica Diamonds are a quality side. They have some guys who were here and might have shared information with the technical panel on how we train, but in football, things are changing every day. At the end of the day, it is about how much you will put into that game. We need to maximise our home-ground advantage. We need to collect maximum points. We don't want to drop maximum points at home.”
