Zimbabwe's national women's football team, popularly known as the Mighty Warriors, have regrouped for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) first-round qualifiers against Angola.

The Mighty Warriors started camp training at ZESA Training Centre in Harare on Monday ahead of the two-legged matches against Angola on February 20 and 27. Zimbabwe will host Angola in Pretoria, South Africa, on February 20 then travel to Luanda for the reverse fixture after a week.

Coach Sithethelelwe Sibanda has since said her mission was to ensure the Mighty Warriors qualify, compete, and conquer.

“Qualification is our main objective but it starts with our first encounter against Angola and if we get past them the off-season will be over and the next qualifiers will find us in better condition,” she said.

Sibanda said her team’s two-week camp period was enough to prepare them for the tough encounter.

“All locally based players turned up. We are happy that today we just completed medicals. Two weeks is decent because when we knew about the fixture two weeks back, I liaised with club coaches on players we wanted so we did off-season activation,” the coach added.

The squad has an impressive array of stars including Israel-based striker Ruvimbo Mucherera (Maccabi Hadera WFC), Yolanda Kwarai (Darwin Olympics Sporting Club, Australia) and Tanzania’s Yanga women’s team star Danai Bhobho.
