Newly-appointed Caps United coach Ian Bakala has promised to bring results to the struggling Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier League (PSL) team.
The Zambian made the promise on May 8, 2025, when he was unveiled as the Harare-based team’s new handler, replacing Lloyd Chitembwe.
“I thank the president and the Exco for making it possible for me to come here. I am so excited. It wasn’t my dream, but looking at the welcome, it is the best time to be here. Any fan in the world only needs one thing...results, and we will give them what they want. It won’t be easy, but I will try my best,” he said.
Bakala, the former Forest Rangers and Lusaka Dynamos FC mentor, has taken over the Caps United coaching job with Alexio Sigion as his deputy. The duo has been tasked with turning around the club's fortunes, having collected just eight points from 10 games.
Makepekepe are placed fourth from the bottom of the 18-team PSL, three points away from the basement side, Triangle United. Bakala's immediate challenge is the league encounter against Herentals FC this weekend.
