FC Dynamos have lived by their warning to fire coach Lloyd Chigowe following a seven-game winless run in Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The Harare-based outfit has since hired veteran Saul Chaminuka to save the team, popularly called DeMbare, from relegation.

Earlier, FC Dynamos’ management had warned Chigowe and his backroom staff that heads would roll. The warning came after FC Dynamos lost 2-0 to Triangle United in a Castle Lager PSL game on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

DeMbare’s management had promised to review the technical team’s composition by Wednesday, May 14, 2025, to revitalize the team's performance and uphold the club's reputation.’

The team now hopes Chaminuka, who has coached many teams in Zimbabwe and across the borders, can steer the sinking Titanic to the shores.

Chaminuka, a former Warriors assistant coach, was in charge of Tafic FC in Botswana in 2019. Domestically, he has managed Zimbabwean clubs such as Highlanders FC, Bikita Minerals, Green Fuels FC, and Black Rhinos.

He takes while Dynamos lie third from the bottom of the Castle Lager PSL’s log table with one win from 11 matches, comprising five draws and five losses. The struggling DeMbare have scored two goals (including an own goal) and conceded seven.
