Malawi's former champions, Big Bullets FC, have confirmed coach Kalisto Pasuwa’s exit, closing the curtain on a trophy-laden five years that bore 16 titles including five consecutive Malawi Super League championships.
In a statement, Bullets announced that the Zimbabwean’s contract runs out on December 31, 2024 and will not be renewed.
“FCB Nyasa Big Bullets can confirm that Kalisto Pasuwa will leave his position as head coach on 31 December 2024, when his contract expires…we are very grateful to Pasuwa for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future,” the statement reads.
The former Dynamos coach has left the Blantyre-based team amid mounting reports that his former deputy Peter Mponda, who has resigned from reigning champions Silver Strikers, will replace him.
The former Zimbabwe Warriors coach who has over the years been linked with top teams such as Kaizer Chiefs, is heavily linked with Malawi’s vacant post as he impressed in a caretaker role beating Burkina Faso 3-0 and holding Burundi 0-0 in 2025 AFCON dead-rubbers.
Pasuwa left Blantyre for Harare earlier this week alongside his son Kenneth who was also on the books of the 16-time champions.
