Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito hails Morifing Donzo’s steady rise

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Karim Zito, has reacted positively to the steady rise of striker Morifing Donzo in the last few games of the Ghana Premier League.

The 27-year-old, who struggled to find his scoring boots, struck twice as the two-time African champions demolished Bechem United 6-0 during the week 16 Premier League fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday.

The Guinean import received rave reviews from coach Karim Zito, who spoke after their big win over the Hunters.

Asante Kotoko Have Won Three Consecutive Matches

“I am very happy they were able to score a lot, especially with [Morifing] Donzo. I am very happy for him. I didn’t give up on him because I saw his struggles,” Karim Zito said.

“Adaptation is not an easy thing at all when you travel outside your country. I know in football, too, adaptation is not easy, but gradually, I think he is getting himself back.

The Porcupine Warriors have now recorded three straight victories since losing 1-0 against new boys Hohoe United in week 13. A 1-0 home win against Dreams FC and a 2-0 triumph at Eleven Wonders gave confidence to the 6-0 thrashing of Bechem United.

Asante Kotoko shot up into the top spot after the heavy win on 30 points, the same as Medeama SC, with a game at All Blacks to end the first half of the Ghana Premier League season.
