In a new development in the ongoing issue between Egyptian star Zizo and Zamalek Club, the White Knights star showed up at the club's headquarters on Sunday and took part in training for the first time since April 10.
The player made a surprise appearance at the club and trained individually due to his long absence from team sessions while the squad was preparing for tomorrow's match against National Bank in the fourth round of the title-deciding phase of the Nile Egyptian League.
The tension involving Zizo and Zamalek began when the club discovered that the player had signed contracts related to arch-rivals Al Ahly, in preparation for a move next season after the expiration of his current deal with Zamalek.
For this reason, the player was initially excluded from the second leg of Zamalek's CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal match against Stellenbosch on April 9.
Since then, Zizo has not participated in team training from April 10 until now, having completely cut off from sessions at the club. The Egyptian international had filed a complaint with the Players’ Affairs Committee at the Egyptian Football Association against his club's board of directors.
Zizo accused Zamalek officials of instructing club employees to remove his images from the walls inside the club premises, tear them apart, and trample on them.
Zizo also missed the club’s internal investigation session for the third time in a row, which was scheduled to be held last Wednesday.
