AmaZulu FC coach Arthur Zwane has hailed goalkeeping coach Wendell Robinson for bringing a winning mentality to the Betway Premiership team this season.

The former Kaizer Chiefs handler told Usuthu media that his team has benefited from the knowledge of the ex-Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United goalkeeper. He joined the Durban-based team to replace Aubrey Vilakazi.

“Coach Wendell is a huge plus in the technical team. He’s got vast experience, has been in the game for a long time, and has achieved a lot,” the 51-year-old is quoted as saying.

Zwane specifically credited Robinson for bringing to AmaZulu a sense of belief during games.

“We needed someone like him for us to grow, come and add value to the team. He is one person who likes to win; he is used to winning, and you can see he wants to hit the ground running. I think we have a very good member of the technical team who will change things for the better for the club,” he said.

Robinson joined AmaZulu in March 2025, bringing with him loads of experience gained from SuperSport, Bidvest Wits FC (now defunct), and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Such experience would prove handy when sixth-placed AmaZulu host Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday to wind up the season. The game will conclude the season for both teams with a victory moving AmaZulu into fifth place.
