Palestinian striker Oday Dabbagh has stressed the importance of Zamalek‘s upcoming CAF Confederation Cup semi-final second leg against CR Belouizdad.
Speaking during CAF’s official media activities ahead of Friday’s decisive clash, the Zamalek forward emphasized that his team must avoid overconfidence as they seek to secure a place in the final.
“We achieved a positive result in the first leg, but overconfidence is not needed in the return match,” Dabbagh said. “We are preparing both technically and mentally for the game in order to seal qualification for the final.”
Zamalek will host the Algerian champions at Cairo International Stadium on Friday at 16:00 GMT, carrying a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first leg in Algiers.
Dabbagh also highlighted the importance of home support, believing the Cairo crowd can play a role in pushing the team forward.
“We will benefit from playing at home and from the support of our fans in the second leg,” he added. “My good performances with the team are thanks to the backing of the coaching staff, my teammates, and the supporters.”
The Palestinian forward underlined the squad’s desire to deliver joy to the Zamalek fans.
“We want to make Zamalek fans happy in the second leg against the Algerian champions and confirm our qualification.”
The White Knights earned their first-leg victory through a solitary goal at Nelson Mandela Stadium, putting them in a strong position ahead of the decisive home encounter in Cairo.
