The Zimbabwean has made the best XI alongside four teammates—Calum Ward, Paul McGinn, Elliot Watt and Elija Just, according to Motherwell FC’s statement.
“With 22 club goals in all competitions this season, Maswanhise has caught the headlines for all the correct reasons this season. His pace, strength and lethal finishing have caused every team’s defensive backline major issues during the 2025/26 season,” reads the statement.
The Scottish Premiership side says it is the first time in over a decade for them to produce more players in the PFA Scottland Team of the Season.
“For the first time since 2012-13, Motherwell have more than one player in the PFA Team of the Season,” says the club. “Calum Ward, Paul McGinn, Elliot Watt, Elijah Just and Tawanda Maswanhise have all been voted by their fellow professionals as part of the best XI players in the William Hill Premiership this season.”
Maswanhise is also chasing the Golden Boot Award alongside Lawrence Shankland and Benjamin Nygren.
Overall, the Warriors star has bagged 22 goals across all competitions, joining the club’s elite 20-goal group at Fir Park alongside Michael Higdon and Willie Pettigrew.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations surprise star has also been nominated for Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season.
The red-hot form of the Zimbabwean has seen him on the radar of Scottish Premiership teams such as Celtic FC and Rangers FC.
