Ghana Black Queens forward Ajegipina Zakaria is on cloud nine following Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ triumphant Women’s Premier League glory on Sunday.
Ampem Darkoa defeated Hasaacas Ladies 2-1 at the Swedru Stadium on Sunday to lift their 5th Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League glory.
Abiba Issah shot Hasaacas Ladies ahead in the first half but a goal each by Priscilla Okyere and Gloria Adomako in the second half sealed the victory for Ampem Darkoa.

Ajegipina Zakaria who won the top scorer after the season expressed her joy over the success achieved so far.
“When we started the game, it was very hard but we believed that so far as we are playing football, we will get what we are looking for,” she said.
“So I’m very happy for the score line but I should have done more than that but so far as we have won the game, we will still do our best.”
Ampem Darkoa won two consecutive titles in 2016 and 2017 before clocking another successive trophies in the 2021-22 and the 2022-23 seasons.
They brushed aside all opposition from the Northern zone to qualify for the finals against Southern zone champions Hasaacas Ladies.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies are level with Hasaacas Ladies on five Women’s Premier League titles.
They will now focus on the WAFU ZONE B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers to stand a chance of booking a slot at the main tournament.
