Yanga SC: Mudathir Yahya set to miss derby following three-match ban

Young Africans (Yanga) star midfielder Mudathir Yahya has been handed a three-match suspension and fined Tsh 1,000,000 ($384) following a disciplinary incident during a recent league encounter.

Pamba Jiji defender Ibrahim Abraham was involved in the altercation after the Young Africans midfielder elbowed him during their clash against at CCM Kirumba Stadium. The decision was confirmed after review of the incident, with authorities deeming the act worthy of further punishment.

As a result of the suspension, Yahya will be sidelined for three matches, a significant blow to Young Africans as they navigate a crucial stage of the season.

Suspension comes at important time in Yanga title defense

Most notably, the midfielder is set to miss the highly anticipated Kariakoo Derby clash on May 3 against fierce rivals Simba SC.
