NPFL: Usman Abd’Allah reacts to Remo Stars survival chances

Remo Stars FC’s battle to escape relegation in the Nigeria Professional Football League [NPFL], was given a major boost last weekend following a big win over Niger Tornadoes.

The defending league champions recorded an emphatic 3-0 victory over Tornadoes in Ikene, a result that pushed them slightly out of the relegation zone with four goals difference.

Head coach of the club, Usman Abd’Allah shared some words after the game, hailing the players’ output on the day.

“Normally we are expecting the three points and the boys did well by reducing the goals that we conceded so you can see that because the goals we are to scale the relegation line,” he told the club’s media outlet.

Abd’Allah admits that, there is more work to be done despite posting impressive performances in their last six matches of the season.

“Even though the battle is not finished yet so we won’t get excited [because] we have another three matches and if we maintain this our position until the end of the season, then we are through.

“The boys did very well and they needed to the instructions that we gave them which means that they are coping well.

“We still have hope, there is still work and we will see how we can get out.”

Usman Abd’Allah replaced Daniel Ogunmodede

Coach Abd’Allah, who replaced Daniel Ogunmodede, has brought significant improvements to the squad since taking charge .

Remo Stars have posted top of the roof performances, recording five victories and just a 1-1 draw away to El Kanemi Warriors in their last six matches.

They currently occupy the 16th spot on 43 points same as Warri Wolves, Kwara United, Niger Tornadoes and Enyimba after 35 games.

A slip at Ennyimba on Sunday May 3, will be detrimental to their survival chances as the season draws to a close with the next three games.
