Matchday 16 of the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership concluded with decisive moments in the race for the Super Six. FC Robo Queens confirmed their playoff spot, while several sides bolstered their standings with key wins across both groups.
Bayelsa Queens extended their lead at the summit with a composed 2-0 victory over Adamawa Queens. Goals from Sofiat Bankole (43′) and Delight Isaac (88′) ensured they climbed to 34 points, moving two clear at the top. Adamawa Queens, however, slipped to seventh place with 17 points.
In Ibadan, Edo Queens were held to a goalless draw by the already-relegated Pacesetters Queens. The point was enough to move Edo Queens into second place with 32 points, just ahead of Rivers Angels, who suffered a shock 2-1 defeat in Owerri.
At the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Heartland Queens stunned Rivers Angels with early goals from Monica Matthew (4′) and Oluebube Umejiaku (19′) before Grace Saliu (29′) pulled one back. The victory lifts Heartland Queens to fifth place with 19 points, while Rivers Angels drop to third with 31 points.
While in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti Queens secured a vital 2-0 win over Ibom Angels courtesy of Odun Olaleye (9′) and Joke Adeyemo (57′). The result moves Ekiti Queens into fourth place with 19 points, while Ibom Angels sit sixth with 18 points.
The “Lagos Landladies,” FC Robo Queens, clinched their Super Six ticket with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Remo Stars Ladies. Rafiu Tosin’s 45th-minute strike proved decisive as Robo Queens maintained the top spot with 35 points, while Remo Stars Ladies dropped to fourth with 24 points.
In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons delivered one of the standout performances of the round, thrashing Confluence Queens 4-0. A brace from Ayatsea Hembafan (4′, 29′) alongside goals from Omotoke Ogunfuwa (32′) and Osinachi Ugbala (75′) propelled them to second place with 29 points, leaving Confluence Queens rooted in 10th with 14 points.
Elsewhere, Abia Angels defeated Delta Queens 2-0 with quick-fire goals from Funmilayo Adefuye (66′) and Miracle Usani (68′). The win takes Abia Angels to third with 27 points, while Delta Queens sit seventh with 19 points.
Also in Aba, Ahudiyannem Queens impressed with a 2-0 win over Dannaz Ladies. Mary Lucky (28′, pen) and Tobi Oghenerugba (62′) found the net as they climbed to fifth place with 19 points. They are currently level with several sides but lead on goal difference.
In Akure, Sunshine Queens dominated the South West derby, beating Osun Babes 3-0 through Moyinoluwa Owolabi (40′), Toyin Oyewale (51′), and Bunmi Adenuga (58′). Sunshine Queens now sit sixth with 19 points, while Osun Babes are ninth with 15 points.
