Asswehly secured a 2-1 victory over Al Ahli Tripoli in the final round of Group One in the Libyan Premier League, handing the leaders their first defeat of the season.
Mohamed Al Tabbal opened the scoring early in the 4th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box. Al Ahli Tripoli responded in the 33rd minute through Pacoya, who capitalized on a mix-up and a fallen goalkeeper to level the score.
Just before halftime, Al Tabbal struck again, finishing a one-on-one chance with composure to restore Asswehly’s lead and make it 2-1 at the break and until the end.
With this result, Asswehly move to 43 points in second place, while Al Ahli Tripoli remain top with 47 points despite the loss.
