Ivorian striker Elye Wahi delivered a dramatic late equalizer to guide OGC Nice to a 1-1 draw against hosts Olympique de Marseille in Round 31 of the Ligue 1.
Nice left it late, with Wahi converting a penalty in the 88th minute to snatch a valuable point. Marseille had taken the lead earlier in the 66th minute through Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, seemingly putting the hosts on course for victory before the late twist.
The result sees Nice move up to 30 points, increasing their gap from the relegation zone. They now sit five points clear of AJ Auxerre, who occupy the 16th spot that leads to the relegation playoff.
Meanwhile, Marseille climb to 53 points in sixth place—currently a UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying position—holding a two-point advantage over AS Monaco in seventh.
Wahi joined Nice on loan until the end of the season from Eintracht Frankfurt. Interestingly, he had previously played for Marseille during the last season (2024/2025 season) before moving to Frankfurt in January and later returning to France with Nice.
This goal marks Wahi’s fifth in Ligue 1 this season, continuing his goal contributions in Nice’s fight for survival.
