Terem Moffi: Porto coach confirms no final decision on forward’s future

Porto head coach Francesco Farioli has confirmed that the club is yet to make a final decision regarding the future of forward Terem Moffi.

The Nigerian international joined the Portuguese giants on loan from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice in January, following a high-profile breakdown in his relationship with the French club and its supporters. Moffi has reportedly made it clear that he will not return to Nice after being confronted by fans at the club’s training ground following a 3-1 defeat to Lorient in December 2025.

Nice vice-president Maurice Cohen has also ruled out any possibility of the striker returning, stating that the split is “irrevocable.”

Decision pending

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of Porto’s 31st-round Primeira Liga clash against Estrela da Amadora, Farioli noted that no final call has been made on the striker’s permanent status.

“It is clear that both parties want to separate. We have an option to buy; we will see what happens after both sides have heard from each other and presented new conditions.”

According to reports, an €8 million purchase clause was included in the deal for the 26-year-old, who has scored twice in 10 league appearances for Porto since his arrival.
