Pyramids FC coach reveals what makes Zamalek better than Al Ahly despite players’ quality

Krunoslav Jurčić, head coach of Pyramids FC, emphasized the significance of his side’s 3-0 victory over Al Ahly SC, describing it as a crucial step in their Nile Egyptian League title campaign.

Speaking after the match, Jurčić highlighted that the win carries extra value given the strength of the opponent, stressing that overcoming a team of Al Ahly’s caliber is always a major achievement.

The Croatian coach revealed that Pyramids have been dealing with a wave of serious injuries in recent weeks, including ACL injuries, shoulder dislocations, and even a broken nose. He praised his players for their resilience and commitment, crediting them for delivering such a strong performance despite the setbacks.

Jurčić also pointed out that big matches are often decided by fine margins, referencing the recent clash against Zamalek SC as a clear example where small details played a decisive role.

He further underlined the importance of fan support in high-stakes encounters, noting that the presence and energy of supporters provide a significant psychological boost to players on the pitch.

When comparing Al Ahly and Zamalek, Jurčić offered an interesting perspective: while Al Ahly may possess superior individual quality, Zamalek, in his view, stand out for their spirit and mentality.

Concluding his remarks, the Pyramids manager insisted that he is not currently focused on title calculations, emphasizing instead that his team is taking it one game at a time in pursuit of the best possible results.
