Power Dynamos FC took a giant step toward the MTN Super League title on Wednesday, beating Zanaco FC 2-0 at Arthur Davies Stadium to extend their unbeaten league run to 16 matches.
The victory leaves AbaYellow 12 points clear at the top with five games remaining in the 2025-26 season. Coach Oswald Mutapa Jr. saw his side dominate from kickoff, with wingers Chifundo Mphasi and Daniel Adoko stretching Zanaco down both flanks.

The breakthrough came in the 25th minute when Frederick Mulambia reacted first to a loose ball in the box, firing past Zanaco goalkeeper Lameck Siame to send Arthur Davies Stadium into celebration.
Stung into action, Zanaco raised their tempo and forced Power goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga into a series of sharp saves, earning plaudits from the home support as he walked away with the Fans’ Man of the Match award after the final whistle.
Dynamos doubled their lead in the 63rd minute. After Mphasi’s effort from a corner was parried, defender Dominic Chanda pounced on the rebound to slot home from close range, effectively sealing the contest.
Mutapa Jr. managed the final 30 minutes with authority, using his bench to introduce fresh legs in midfield and control the tempo. The AbaYellow backline restricted Zanaco to half-chances as Power recorded a 17th clean sheet of the season.
The result moved Dynamos to 67 points, 12 ahead of second-placed Red Arrows FC with 55 points. AbaYellow need just four points from their final five games to secure the league title.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Dynamos Second Assistant Coach Songwe Chalwe said: “It was never an easy game, but the players applied themselves well by sticking to our game plan and instructions. We respect Zanaco. It still remains a long way to go, and we will take it one game at a time.”
Dynamos are back in action this Saturday, May 2, away to Konkola Blades FC at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.
