The result further underlines Al Hilal’s dominance this season, as they opened an eight point gap at the summit while still holding a game in hand over their closest challengers. With the title race entering its decisive phase, the Sudanese side appear firmly on course to clinch the championship if they maintain their current form.
Al Hilal delivered a composed and professional performance, controlling large spells of the match and limiting AS Kigali’s attacking threat. Their persistence paid off just before halftime when Walieldin Daiyeen broke the deadlock in the 41st minute. The forward capitalized on a well worked move to give his side a deserved lead heading into the break.
After the restart, AS Kigali attempted to respond, pushing forward in search of an equalizer. However, Al Hilal’s defensive organization remained solid, frustrating the hosts and preventing them from creating clear cut chances.
The visitors eventually put the game beyond reach in the 80th minute when Salaheldin Adil calmly finished to double the advantage. His composed strike ensured all three points for Al Hilal and capped off an impressive away performance.
The victory takes Al Hilal to 64 points, comfortably ahead of APR FC, who sit second on 56 points. Al Merrikh SC occupy third place with 55 points, also with a game in hand, while Rayon Sports FC remain fourth on 48 points. Police FC complete the top five with 45 points.
