Medeama SC extended their lead on top of the Ghana Premier League table with a convincing 2-0 win over defending champions GoldStars on Sunday.

Medeama started the week 31 fixture very well and were awarded a penalty when Bernard Kesse handled the ball in his area with 19 minutes played. Salim Adams elected to kick and he scored his 11th goal of the season to send the Mauve and Yellow ahead.
The hosts continued as the better side, surging forward boldly into GoldStars final third. Salim Adams rose to the occasion one more time to curl in the second goal from a free kick just before the halftime break.

The victory saw the leaders stretch their lead to 56 points, five points above GoldStars from 30 games.
Elsewhere, record holders Asante Kotoko were given a reality check by Dreams FC at the Tuba AstroTurf, losing 2-0 to the Still Believe Boys. The defeat sank Kotoko into eighth spot, level on 43 points with Dreams from 30 league games.
In one of the biggest fixtures of the weekend, Hearts of Oak picked all three points from the Dr. Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday.
A solitary strike by Mawuli Wayo in the 11th minute was enough to seal the victory for the Phobians against Nations FC, whose captain Razak Simpson missed a crucial penalty.
Hearts of Oak kept the third spot intact with 49 points, two points behind second placed GoldStars and seven points adrift of leaders Medeama.
All clubs will return to action on Wednesday, May 6 for the postponed Week 30 matches in solidarity with the family of the late Berekum Chelsea forward, Dominic Frimpong who was shot dead by armed robbers.
